Award winning Northern Lights might just be the most popular and well known indica strain of all time. Its intense sedative effects give a full body high that can best be compared to a warm blanket, creating a dreamlike and euphoric state for lucky users.
Best used at night, this strain can counter sleeplessness, stress, and depression, as well as relax the body and relieve pain. Though the strain is popular for its general lack of side effects and lack of “hangover,” some users do report getting cottonmouth (so stay hydrated!).
While reports of its origin differ, its lineage can be traced back to indigenous Afghani and Thai landrace strains.
Northern Lights is highly resistant to diseases and pests, making it relatively easy to grow and an ideal plant for those just starting out growing. It is highly suited for indoor growing in both hydroponics and soil, and flowers in about seven to nine weeks. Outside, flowering in October. Outdoors plant grows to 10 ft.with dark green leaves, highly dense and resin-rich flowers, and wide fingered Indica leaves, and has a sweet, spicy, and earthy taste — think: cozy winter night staring at the aurora borealis.
Used for: Chronic pain relief, appetite stimulant
Harvest: Indoors 8 to 10 weeks. Outdoor, Oct 1-15
